Today, Michael Simmons joins us on the show. Michael and I met each other at about the midway point of 2020 when he made his introduction to my mental health community, The Outlet. I instantly felt a connection to Michael. He is an amazing human being and a great man faith. And today, I am blessed to share the depth of Michael’s journey with the world. Early in his life, Michael had a close-knit relationship with God. But at the age of ten, Michael experienced a traumatic event that began to derail the stability within his family. Soon after, Michael started to encounter abuse in his home. And that created a wedge between he and God. He felt angry and abandoned. And it was not until he hit rock bottom in a broken and toxic marriage many years later that he began to seek to reconnect with the Lord. Michael’s rebirth occurred in 2005. While his awakening was a magical experience, many of the messy remnants of his past remained. And within those messy remnants, the devil continued his relentless push to rob Michael of the joy and hope of the Lord. But one morning, following a night of persistent spiritual warfare, the Lord spoke to Michael. And He reminded Michael that He made him for a purpose. As a result of this divine intervention, Michael’s true identity became revealed to Him through Christ. He now lives his life seeking opportunities to lift people up and openly share the joy of his faith with those around him. Michael reminds us that we are all qualified to do God’s work. And like a muscle, we must exercise our faith in order to strengthen it.
