1998年，梁詠琪推出第三張國語專輯《梁詠琪同名專輯》，其中的主打歌曲〈膽小鬼〉是一首輕快可人的小品，依舊大受歡迎。99年的第四張專輯《新鮮》一樣有不俗的表現。99年對於梁詠琪來說最大的突破是在張艾嘉導演的電影《心動》當中擔任女主角，與金城武、莫文蔚有相當精彩的對手戲演出，這次的演技表現讓她首次獲得了香港電影金像獎最佳女主角的提名，對Gigi的演藝生涯來說可以說是一次重要的肯定。
