1.NO INJURIES REPORTED FROM HIGH RISE FIRE IN CHANGSHA
长沙高楼火灾未造成人员伤亡
A fire at high-rise office tower in Changsha, Hunan province was quickly brought under control and extinguished【熄灭】. The China Telecom building is more than 200 meters tall. Completed in 2000, it was the first building in the city taller than 200 meters. There were no reports of casualties【伤亡人员】 so far. An investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway.
湖南长沙市区的高楼火灾迅速得到控制，大楼明火已被扑灭。事发电信大楼2000年建成，是长沙首座突破200米的楼宇。截至目前，火灾没有造成人员伤亡，具体火灾伤亡情况正在进一步了解中。

18 projects by private companies will be launched in Pudong with total investment of more than 20 billion yuan. The companies are in the biopharmaceutical, integrated circuit, and creative sectors. Zhang Hong tells us more.
18个民营企业投资项目将入驻浦东，总投资额超过200亿元人民币，涉及生物医药、集成电路、文化创意等多个领域。记者张泓带来更多详细报道。
Intuitive Surgical - Fosun Medical Technology Company will build a manufacturing and innovation base in Pudong’s Zhangjiang area to expand access to robotic assisted surgery to more patients in China. The company is a joint venture【合资企业】 between Fosun and Intuitive Surgical, the US-based developer of da Vinci surgical robot. The company’s production and innovative base, which is expected to be operational【可使用的】 in 2025, will produce da Vinci surgery robots for the Chinese market.
直观复星医疗器械技术公司将在张江国际医学园区打造一个生产和创新基地，为中国更多的患者提供机器人辅助手术。该公司是复星医药和美国达芬奇手术机器人开发商直观医疗的合资企业。该基地预计于2025年投入使用，为中国市场生产达芬奇手术机器人。

With the new base, high-end medical facilities like the surgical robots can be upgraded and better serve Chinese patients.

Other projects include industrial parks for digital simulation and biomedicine. There are about 260,000 private companies in Pudong, accounting for 87% of all companies in the district. Chairman of a bio-technology company said its development is partly attributed to Pudong’s good business environment.

Pudong government officials have been helping these companies expand into the global market. The Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce signed an agreement today with the Pudong government to attract more private companies in the Yangtze Delta to invest in the district.
浦东一直在助力民企拓展全球市场。今天（9/16），上海市工商业联合会与浦东新区政府签署了一项协议，以吸引长三角更多民营企业到浦东投资。
3.EUROPEAN UNION SAYS IT WILL SUPPORT UKRAINE

The European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen yesterday arrived in Kyiv, for her third visit since the Russia-Ukraine conflict began. The commission president said the EU will fully support Ukraine in the EU accession process, adding that the bloc intends to expand the purchase of electricity from Ukraine. The White House yesterday announced a new security package for Ukraine worth 600 million dollars. The equipment will be drawn from existing stock and inventories, and it will include additional arms, ammunition【弹药】 and equipment. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova responded that the U.S. would be crossing a red line and become an actual party to the conflict, if it supplies longer-range missiles to Ukraine.
