Besides the usual things one can count on in life – taxes and death – we might add a third one, more food recalls due to plastic and rubber contamination in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia/New Zealand. This is costing the industry millions upon millions.

In the last four years, plastic and rubber recalls have grown by at least 1.5 times and it is easy to suspect even more, since at times plastic is listed on some websites as just foreign matter or a containment – not a specific.

However, it doesn’t have to be this way.

In this episode of Meat Talk, we’ll be discussing plastics in food and if there is anything that can be done to prevent it from contaminating your product. We’ll be talking to Uli Hurzlemier from Sesotec who we heard give an amazing talk at IFFA and we’ll be giving you some concrete ways of reducing the risk.
