Bible Study with Jairus- Romans 11In chapter 11, Paul focuses on how salvation came to the Gentiles because of the Israelites unbelief. He discussed how God’s salvation would come to the Jews again, and all Israel will be saved when the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. A man in our study questioned Romans 11:32, “For God has consigned all to d…

Bible Study with Jairus – Romans 10Romans 9 talks about the Israelites being temporarily abandoned by God. The Gentiles—who did not pursue righteousness—were instead justified by faith (Romans 9:30). Meanwhile, the Israelites who were pursuing a law that would lead to righteousness failed to reach that law (Romans 9:31). Why? And what warning does …

Bible Study with Jairus – Romans 6The subject of Romans 6 is about being united with Christ, including the experience of death and resurrection with Christ (Romans 6:1-5). Paul specifically mentioned that our old man was crucified with Christ. The sinful flesh has already been annulled (Romans 6:6-16), so we should consider ourselves alive to God i…

Justification by FaithBible Study with Jairus – Romans 4Romans 4 continues the theme of justification by faith, which Paul introduced in Romans 1:17: "The righteous shall live by faith." (ESV) Romans 5 builds on the concepts of justification by faith which are discussed in chapter 4. Romans 5 begins, "Therefore, since we have been justified by fait…

Bible Study with Jairus – Romans 3When we first read Romans 3, we felt that there was some confusion in the logic. For example, Paul asked a question in the first verse: "What advantage, then, is there in being a Jew, or what value is there in circumcision?" (Romans 3:1, NIV). Then he answered this question in the second verse. He said: "Much in ev…

Bible Study with Jairus - Leviticus 16The man who led our Bible study on Leviticus 16 asked a good question. When the high priest stood before God and used the blood to make atonement, did the Israelites still have sin (verses 14-15)? Clearly, the sprinkling of blood only covered sin temporarily. It didn't take the sin away forever. In the New Test…

God’s GuidanceBible Study with Jairus – 1 Corinthians 7Have you ever been in a situation where you faced a tough decision? How did you deal with the ambiguity and uncertainty? Often, when we don’t know what to do, we search for a dogmatic command from God to eliminate all uncertainty. However, God wants us to get to know him personally and accept h…

Dreams of Heaven and the Underworld PrefaceIs Jesus real? Does God exist? Is the Bible true? Is there really a heaven? Although these are questions people have asked for centuries, they are also relevant questions today because people of every generation continue to ask them. What is the Truth?I once heard a story that illustrates this. When Hudson…

Springtime for North Koreaby Sean SongThree years ago on June 12, 2018, U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean Chairman Kim Jong Un historically met in Singapore, and it attracted immense attention from the world. Their summit meeting was the first in history, and Trump became later known for being the first sitting U.S. president to have ent…

Bible Study with Jairus – 1 Corinthians 5 Seeing With Spiritual EyesWe are challenged when reading 1 Corinthians 5 because the Corinthians were arrogant (weak in dealing with the wicked and arrogant towards God) and did not remove the wicked from their midst. Paul’s spirit gathered with them there, and only after Paul judged the wicked in the spiri…

Knowing Christ Intimately: The Peace OfferingBible Study with Jairus – Leviticus 3Have you ever wished you could develop a more intimate relationship with God? Leviticus 3 gives us a tangible example of ever-increasing closeness to God. As worshipers offered their sacrifices--smaller lambs and goats and larger cattle--they depicted the experience o…

Closeness with God through PrayerBible Study with Jairus - Numbers 28Habits of Gratitude and PrayerHave you ever been speeding through a parking lot when your car suddenly jolted, bouncing violently up and down? You hit a speed bump. The purpose of speed bumps is to force us to slow down our vehicle and pay attention to our surroundings. In the sam…

Bible Study with Jairus - RuthThe book of Ruth is comprised of only four short chapters, but it’s a very important book in the Bible. It serves as a link between the past and the future. It’s preceded by the historical account of chaotic Israel in the book of Judges for hundreds of years or more. It’s a cycle in which the Israelites turned their ba…

Bible Study with Jairus – PhilippiansToday’s study will mainly focus on one topic: how to manifest Christ in our lives. What does it mean to manifest Christ? It’s what Paul said in Philippians 1:20-21 (NIV), “I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in …

Bible Study with Jairus - GalatiansThis evening we are going to quickly go through several chapters of Galatians. This morning when I attended an American Evangelical Community Church, the pastor used a term called SBNR which means spiritual but not religious. This pastor was criticizing people who don’t participate in church activities and are not…

Bible Study with Jairus – Romans 9Referring to the Old Testament, Romans 9:13 says, "As it is written, 'Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.'” A Christian asked in the meeting, “Why did God hate Esau? Isn’t the word hate too strong in tone? Why did God choose Jacob instead of Esau? How do we understand God's choice? How do we know that we are chosen by…

We often talk about personal topics or current events before our Bible Study begins. Often, by the time we finish reading the scripture for that particular day, we find that it answers questions or confusion about the previous topics discussed. The purpose of reading the Bible is not to simply read it, but to solve the problems we face every day an…

Bible Study With Jairus - Leviticus 8- Aaron’s Anointing and The Modern Day Mercy SeatFor today’s study, we’re going to look at several questions from a woman who wondered how we are to understand the meaning behind the story of Moses putting the anointing oil on the high priest. To her, it seemed that since the content of this chapter had already …

Bible Study With Jairus – Leviticus 2- Grain Offerings, Leaven, and LegalismLeviticus 2:11-12 says: “No grain offering that you bring to the Lord shall be made with leaven, for you shall burn no leaven nor any honey as a food offering to the Lord. As an offering of first fruits you may bring them to the Lord, but they shall not be offered on the al…

God Moves Towards UsBible Study With Jairus – Leviticus 1God’s Care for Young Believers. When we read Leviticus, we are often discouraged by its complexity and the excessive details of the sacrificial system. However, if we look at this from another angle, every minute detail is necessary to truly depict the gentleness of God’s character and the de…

God’s Perfect PlanBible Study with Jairus – Acts 9Peter and PaulIn Acts 9, we see an abrupt transition from the transformation of Saul/Paul (vs. 1-30) to the story of Peter’s ministry (vs. 31-32). Why this abrupt transition? Why does the storyline seem incoherent and inconsistent? To answer this question, let’s look back briefly at chapters 7 and 8.…

Dissension in the Body of Christ.Bible Study with Jairus - 1 Corinthians 4Rivalry in the Church. In 1 Corinthians 4:6, Paul urged the Corinthians not to idolize him or his coworker, Apollos. Paul said, "I have applied all these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, brothers, that you may learn by us not to go beyond what is written, that n…

The Mercy and Justice of GodNumbers 27As we consider Numbers 27 today, it may seem puzzling that the story of Zelophehad’s daughters is juxtaposed with the story of Moses not getting to enter the promised land. Why are these stories put together in the Bible? Moses’ Lack of Gentleness Perhaps when dealing with Zelophehad’s daughters, Moses made the…

We Are About to Reach the TopSean Song, May 9, 2021Climbing Over the MountainIt is likely that right now many people in the body of Christ feel disappointment in one or many areas of their lives. I recently had a few dreams that encouraged me. I think they may be an encouragement for all of us. We are almost at the mountaintop and a great show prep…

Bible Study with Jairus – Leviticus 9The Threefold Office of Christ in Leviticus 9My heart was stirred and inspired by Leviticus 9, which begins in verse 1 with the powerful statement that, “On the eighth day Moses called Aaron and his sons and the Elders of Israel” (English Standard Version). The subsequent parts of Chapter 9 detail Moses’ inducti…

Bible Study With Jairus - Romans 13 God’s Will for Believers and PoliticsRoman chapter 13 is about obedience to authority. Paul tells us that all authority is given by God, and that we must submit ourselves to those who govern us. If we resist authority, we resist God, because God has set up authority to punish evildoers on God's behalf. If we do g…

Acts 11 tells three stories. In the first, Peter takes six fellow believers to Cornelius’s home to bring salvation to Cornelius and all his household. He also baptized them with the Holy Spirit. The second story talks about the advancement of the Gospel by those who were suffering because of the persecution that arose over Stephen. Barnabas also we…

Unity and Humility in the Body of Christ.Bible Study with Jairus - 1 Corinthians 3Have you ever wondered why Paul seems to expect Christians to leave behind spiritual childhood, while Jesus expects Christians to become like little children? Paul asked Christians not to be “infants in Christ” (1 Corinthians 3:1), yet Jesus commanded us all to “turn …

God’s Purification SystemBible Study with Jairus – Numbers 19After God’s discipline on Korah and others (Numbers 16), His warning to the Israelites through the budding of Aaron’s rod (Numbers 17), and His command to Aaron and his sons to bear the iniquity involving their priesthood (Numbers 18), we can see that the content of Numbers 19 explains ho…

Bible Study with Jairus – Numbers 15Levels of Spiritual GrowthIn Numbers 15, God gives instructions to Moses about the different levels of sacrifices they were to offer to God after they entered the Promised Land. In this passage, the Israelites are still in the wilderness. The last chapter told the story of Joshua, Caleb, and the twelve evil spies…

Bible Study with Jairus – Numbers 11This chapter begins with the Israelites complaining and arousing God’s anger against them, which resulted in some of the people being consumed by the fire of God. They also complained to Moses about how they craved the leeks, cucumbers, fish, and meat back in Egypt. God told Moses he would give the people meat, b…

Prophetic Dreams About Donald TrumpMany Christians who yearn for the return of the United States to its Christian foundations support Donald Trump as a president because they see that Trump acknowledges God and supports and agrees with certain Christian values and principles. However, disheartenment and disappointment swept across believers’ hearts…

Discovering God’s Strength in WeaknessBible Study with Jairus- 1 Corinthians 2Paul’s FearfulnessIn 1 Corinthians 2:3, the Apostle Paul gives an interesting insight into his personal life: "I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling." This strong, courageous leader was experiencing significant fear. He founded the Corinthian church, s…

Bible Study With Jairus – Numbers 22Finding Truth Amongst False Prophets and NewsNumbers 22:1 (ESV) records, "The people of Israel set out and camped in the plains of Moab beyond the Jordan at Jericho." This verse paints a perfect picture of the Israelites (who represent our spiritual life) being disturbed and attacked by the Moabites (who represen…

Bible Study with Jairus – Numbers 21Numbers 21 tells the story of Israel getting back to the starting point after wandering in the wilderness for 40 years. Forty years ago, they sent twelve spies into the Promised Land. In the end, ten were evil spies. They saw that the Canaanites were of great height, so they became frightened and forgot about God…

Bible Study with Jairus - Numbers 5Numbers 5 contains three stories. The first story is about Jehovah instructing Moses to send away all people with leprosy from the camp. In the next story, Jehovah is instructing Moses to let the Israelites offer up sacrifices for their sins and offenses. The third story is about Jehovah telling Moses how to deal …

A Revival Out of MarylandIn 2002, I was saved through the Local Church Movement (LCM) associated with Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. The LCM is a Christian movement that originated from China and spread to the world. Both the Plymouth Brethren (PB) and C. I. Scofield’s teachings were strong influences on the formation of the LCM’s doctrine and pract…

Bible Study with Jairus – Acts 26Acts 26 was the most important turning point and transition in Paul's life as he testified about the Lord from Jerusalem to Rome. Paul's calling was to be an apostle to the Gentiles. But he could not let go of his fellow Jews, so he hoped that the Gospel could be spread further among them first. Although the prophet…

This synergy paper is a combination of two assignments. We can only include a portion (abstract) of my spiritual biography, so this synergy paper is a combination of my spiritual biography and the project I am about to begin. This project is about comparing the prophesying practice between the LCM and the Pentecostal Movement. So in this paper, you…

In this dream, I went to Japan with a man who helped me find lodging. Then I was brought into a hotel which looked like a downtown luxury hotel. I asked him, “isn’t this very expensive?” He replied, “it is okay.” Once I was in the hotel, I found myself being led to the basement of the hotel. There were already some people there serving us some tea …

I went back to sleep at 4:30am and suddenly I saw fire in the heavens and it seemed very far away and it was comprised of many different colors. Then I realized it could be God and I remembered that people will feel fear when they see God. I did have that fear with me later. Then I was lifted up like in a rocket, and as I was traveling up I heard a…

In this dream I went to Japan and I found myself in a place where I was listening to the radio and something was going on over the radio but I don’t remember what was being broadcasted. I felt it was something about God. I also had this vague impression it was in a foreign language. I guess this broadcast drew me to the next scene in Japan. In this…

Before I woke up in the morning, I saw a plane coming from Japan to my home town in China. I saw the airplane pass through a cloud and come directly to my childhood home in China. My home town is close to the capital, 400 kilos south of Beijing. The door of my home faces east and I came out of my door to give the airplane a signal and I opened up t…
