少子化的風潮席捲全球，台灣的生育率崩跌成為世界倒數第一（1.09)，北歐的情況一樣慘淡，以芬蘭為例，年年下滑的數字 1.23 遠遠低於人口替代率 2.1，而在中歐荷蘭的趨勢居然能逐漸攀升（1.68)。剛成為新手媽媽三個月的 Jessie Hsu，看到了荷蘭女人願意生小孩這件事的背後，意涵著「女人，妳不是弱者」的深刻意義 — 荷蘭女人不但可以完全自由的衝事業，滿足成就感，她們更有強烈獨立的意識爭取生命自主選擇權。她們有著強大的體魄，不需要男人也可以有小孩，不用伴侶來合理化生小孩的權利，更重要的是社會大眾支持並且尊重妳的決定，國家社會用資源來支持協助妳的決定。曾經在瑞典和芬蘭唸書求學，在荷蘭已經工作了將近十年的 Jessie，當她和荷蘭老公做了人生重大的決定 - 要生小孩，她是帶著台灣深根的「…

現在在台北的營造廠擔任內裝現場工程師的李承翰，還沒來北歐前就去過柬埔寨，尼泊爾，不是因為他不喜歡建築事務所的工作，而是他知道他更適合什麼樣的工作，他一直都不覺得自己是必須要在哪裡的人，而是哪裡需要，哪裡有機會，他就往哪裡跑，他要把專業回饋到社會，用設計讓人的生活更好，體驗更好。五年前到挪威深造，為了就是可以看得更多，自己的設計可以更有廣度更有深度。在挪威，他看到了他一直崇尚的設計，那是你可以隨處體驗到你看不到的設計。唸完建築研究所，他再次出發去了東非烏干達工作兩年，去幫他們蓋生態廁所，應用當地材料，融合社會習慣文化，用建築永續設計的概念，提高當地生活品質。熱心於社會關懷的承翰，北歐這趟，驗證了他長期以來相信的東西，設計是可以好到一個高度，當他去到了第三世界當中，他更有動力去實踐去改變。 …

一年前從丹麥移居荷蘭，黎家興職涯發展的軌跡離不開法律和金融財政。台灣學法律，學經濟，當過律師，拿到愛丁堡大學博士學位，以他在歐盟金融監理政策的專長，留在歐洲，曾在德國，丹麥工作，現在在荷蘭債券交易所工作，為了就是更接近歐盟政策核心。經過六年的北歐社會福利制度，集體主義的洗禮，家興要割捨離開丹麥，他和老婆花了整整一年的時間，他沒辦法把丹麥帶走，但他可以把丹麥關注快樂的精神和諧團隊的氛圍，注入崇尚資本主義和個人自由的新團隊。工作外，似曾相識的台灣印象，隨時隨地出現在荷蘭的生活角落，已經接受了北歐思維，習慣了北歐生活，夾在文化三明治的他，經常碰撞二次文化衝擊，讓現在的他更加想念丹麥的一切。出國改變了他的思想，但他一直保有放眼天下的信念。～～～照片：黎家興 Gary Li…

冰島交換五個月，是葉冠均這輩子最快樂的時光。十年前，他第一次一個人離家出國，到一個講聽不懂的冰島語的冰島，成為唯一一個從台灣到冰島交換的學生。當時台大政治系大五的他，已經修完了該修的學分，對人生沒有計劃對未來沒有準備，出國就是最好的出路，交換就是最好的機會。到冰島，他有學生身份但沒有學生壓力，他更有光明正大理由沒有找工作壓力，到了冰島，沒有手機不用經常上網，完全與世隔絕，他學會了生活，學會了跟自己獨處，學會了享受自然觀察景觀，完全可以用他的方式，他更學會了旅行。短短的五個月，冠均找到了他的前途方向和人生職涯發展，現在在旅遊觀光業工作的冠均，懂得不害怕面對未知，珍惜每個可能的放空。照片：葉冠均…
