海外政治運動一直是臺灣民主重要的力量，「黑名單」陳芳明被漂泊19年，他以美麗島事件為分水嶺，述說他在海外參與政治運動遭遇到的人與事，不能回家的孤獨與思念也化作一首首的詩與文章，代替他回故鄉臺灣。
