We Are Lucky People
Lucky people aren’t lucky by sheer accident. They’re lucky because of the mindset they bring to life. A mindset that accepts bad luck as inevitable, but good luck as something we create by sheer hard word, bravery and optimism. Being lucky is a mindset and a way of life. Becoming lucky is possible for anyone who believes it is. In other words, lucky people operate from a mindset of abundance (豐富).That means we may not be able to control the economy, the weather, the stock market or the universe, but we can create our own good fortune. Lucky people weather the storms of life by seeing hidden opportunities, trusting themselves and taking bold action. When it comes to the really big decisions in life, lucky people take brave action. In fact, they aren’t lucky at all. They just trust the results of their courageous actions, rising from their innate instincts and intuition. It explains why so many ordinary people stick with situations that leave them miserable rather than leaving the security of the known for the unfamiliarity of a better unknown. They, therefore, cannot create good luck, compared with the lucky ones. Of course, there are many valid risks in life and we need to be mindful of them, but dwelling on risks can keep us from seeing opportunities. Nothing worthwhile is ever created without a risk. We have to be brave to trust our instincts and intuition. Lucky people don’t fear setbacks (挫折). They find comfort in uncomfortableness. In this way, they win more opportunities. Of course, they lose a lot of things, too. But as they practice taking risks, they get better at working out what looks like a worthy gamble. Over time, they spot the best value options, and the odds (優勢) are in their favor.
Lucky people are optimistic. They have positive expectations, which lead to self-fulfilling prophecies. Even if things take a turn for the worse, they can spot the good in a situation. Not only do positive expectations help lucky people become happier, but they can also make the most of difficult situations. Lucky people attract more good things to happen in their lives. That is to say, when we expect good things to happen, we’ll, generally, find that they do happen. Life truly is a self-filling prophecy. What we expect to happen often does—for better or worse. Further, our beliefs about the future have a way of making it happen. Therefore, by being optimistic, we can find opportunity in adversity and take action, while our pessimistic friends wouldn’t bother to take. We really create new opportunities for ourselves. So, it’s important that we should look on the bright side of things always.
Lucky people hold an attitude of gratitude. They can regularly list things they are grateful. They have trained themselves to notice when they have been fortunate, and they have started to believe that good luck follows them wherever they go. They say thank you for every favor. They never forget a kindness. Their gratitude means people love doing things for them, and doors are always opening. Fortune favors the grateful. Lucky people have already visualized where they want their luck to take them. They know how good it feels when their plans pay off (付清), and they can picture themselves there.
Lucky people are not consumed with small and irrelevant details or things that don’t really matter. They’re not wasting time and energy with inconsequential matters because they know their input is far better invested elsewhere. They can quickly gain perspectives and choose a new, more favorable outlook. Lucky people attract others. They look for ways to meet new people, learn from them and nurture relationships. They smile twice as often and engage in more eye contact. Their sociability helps them increase their likelihood of a lucky opportunity because they meet more people, connect better, and maintain relationships. Lucky people are more open to new experiences. They keep an open mind, having an open attitude and looking around for new opportunities. They’re willing to talk to new people, travel to new places, and try new things.
All in all, if we can do something to build upon what we have, we are, definitely lucky people. We can try to step outside our boundary in order to increase the likelihood (可能性) of a lucky break (沒有預料到的好運氣). When we open ourselves to new places, practice gratitude, and step outside our routine, we certainly find ourselves getting lucky.
