The Book Interrupted women begin their first conversation on their Series 7 book choice: “From the Ashes: My Story of Being Métis, Homeless, and Finding My Way” by Jesse Thistle. Each member expresses individually how they feel either before reading or beginning to read “From the Ashes”, then they continue the discussion into a group chat. Through the topics of reconciliation, appropriation, the Indigenous experience, community and interconnectedness, they talk about their lives, inspired by the words of Jesse Thistle
