Here we are in the week between Passover and Easter! The world’s a mess! What now? What is happening? How can I understand what is going on in the chaos and uncertainty? Let's look at what the Word of God says about how we can be blinded by the world. Secular humanism and political correctness have 'dumbed down' our critical thinking skills. The idolatry of the human mind can lead to missing the Spirit of the Lord's heart and presence unless we diligently seek Him and grow in the fear and admonition of the Lord. John 12:1 "Six days before Passover, (six is the number of man." Resurrection life for us comes from the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus.) "Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarucde Him a supper; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the tablre with Him. 3 Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil." Do you feel at times the Lord hides from you? There are times as well when the Lord hides us, for our own growth and learning process. Here we read in the next verse about the Lord being hidden. John 12: 36 "While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them. Has Jesus been hidden from many in this hour?" At times the Lord blinds people's eyes for His reasons. It may be because of the sin of people or even a nation. Could this be what is happening in the last year and half? John 12:40 “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, Lest they should see with their eyes, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.” Many have been praying this next verse and we should continue to pray this as we seek the Lord's solution. So many of the challenges we face on earth in this life are beyond human remedy. Let's contrast the above verse with 2 Chron 7:14 " if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.' When we are seeking men’s approval instead of the Lord we face our own demise and frustration. For 'unless the Lord builds the house, we labor in vain.' The so called scholars of the day, the Pharisees and Saducees missed it! Their legalistic, judgemental human intellect made them prideful and so dangerous. Their eternal soul and ours are at stake of the lake of fire and eternal separation from God. Often we crave man's approval more than the Lord's. The fear of man or seeking man's approval can even keep us out of Heaven! John 14:42 "Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; 43 for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God." See Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." May we live in humility a lifestyle of repentance so that we like King David, can be a 'man after God's own heart. Psalm 51:17 "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise.' Receive your healing: Isaiah 53:5-6 "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes, we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, everyone, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all."
