One of the primary financial objectives for any dentist is reaching the point that active practice becomes optional. In other words, a dentist no longer has to practice solely for the money, even though some may choose to continue seeing patients because they enjoy it.
The process of making practice financially optional may take one decade… or five. It depends on the individual circumstances or philosophies in four key areas:
· Income potential
· Ideal hours spent practicing
· Lifestyle
· Desired age for independence
