Cristina Mittermeier, fotografa, biologa marina e attivista, ha viaggiato per il mondo documentando la bellezza del pianeta e le culture dei suoi abitanti. Attraverso le sue fotografie, racconta storie di comunità legate alla natura e propone il concetto di “enoughness,” un approccio che valorizza ciò che già possediamo e il nostro impatto sul pianeta.

Mittermeier sottolinea l’importanza di utilizzare saggiamente le risorse limitate e di riconoscere l’interconnessione tra gli esseri umani e l’ecosistema globale. Co-fondatrice di SeaLegacy, si impegna per la salute degli oceani, essenziale per il clima e la vita umana.

La mostra curata da Lauren Johnston in collaborazione con National Geographic, alle Gallerie d’Italia di Torino, mira a sensibilizzare il pubblico sulla fragilità dell’ecosistema attraverso la fotografia.

Abbiamo avuto il piacere e l’onore di intervistarla e siamo rimasti veramente colpiti dalle sue parole, che dimostrano quanto Cristina non solo diffonda il suo messaggio ma lo viva anche in pienezza.

Cristina Mittermeier, photographer, marine biologist and activist, has traveled the world documenting the beauty of the planet and the cultures of its inhabitants. Through her photographs, she tells stories of nature-related communities and proposes the concept of “enoughness,” an approach that values what we already have and our impact on the planet.

Mittermeier emphasizes the importance of using limited resources wisely and recognizing the interconnectedness between humans and the global ecosystem. A co-founder of SeaLegacy, she is committed to ocean health, which is essential to climate and human life.

The exhibition curated by Lauren Johnston in collaboration with National Geographic, at the Gallerie d’Italia in Turin, Italy, aims to raise awareness of the fragility of the ecosystem through photography.

We had the pleasure and honor of interviewing her and were truly impressed by her words, which show how Cristina not only spreads her message but also lives it to the fullest.
