You may have been introduced to him through the astonishing ‘Un Prophete’, and most recently you may have seen trailers for the new project ‘The Mauritanian’ - whatever the case, get better acquainted with this awesome human who goes boldy into the craft with a fearlessness and courage that translates directly through the screen. He goes into detail about the lockdown and the effects in him and the movie industry, his relationship with Mohamedou Slahi upon whom his latest release ‘The Mauritanian’ is based - and his experiences being detained in Guantanamo, truth in suffering and mirroring that in performance, rhythm and musicality of language (and different languages), The Eddy, auditions, cinematic antics which ultimately led to a career and also a low-key redemption, and he speaks with Pip about a handful of his other projects too. Mad enjoyable.
