I’m wrapping it all up. This whole series came about as a way to dig into the research of work addiction as I began stepping back into an employed role. So much of what I talk about on this podcast has roots grounded in what’s happening in my own life and it’s been fun digging in.

So first, I shared all about definitions and where work addiction starts. Then I moved into the actual research that has been done on work addiction and workaholics. It was part three however that has really stuck with me.

The pause.

Many of you have reached out and said that you can’t take the pause, but if you don’t you may find yourself in deeper waters than you can get yourself out of. You NEED to pause.

Next, I chatted all about re-entry because that’s where I’m at right now. Re-entry into the workforce with new strategies and a clear understanding of myself and my tendencies. This part is very important.

Last, we discussed workaholic leadership and how it impacts the work culture as a whole. Workaholic leaders beget workaholic staff which begets a culture of burnout that is really hard to turn around.

Want to know where to go from here? Listen in and learn what your next steps are for dealing with your work addiction and living a healthier work life.
