Financial Advisors Say The Darndest Things

There are only two things that are certain in life…death and taxes. But for some reason, these are the same two things that people avoid learning about because it is hard, it feels overwhelming, and unfortunately, it is how you handle these two subjects that will determine financial success. We will be talking about graduated tax brackets, marginal tax rates, and the average tax rate. We will go over a financial planning scenario to drill home the importance of speaking with your financial advisor.

Even I was a little scared addressing this topic. I questioned myself. Will my listeners care? Will they skip over the episode? Or even worst, would they unsubscribe because they don’t want to hear about taxes as much as they want to hear about making money.

But I made an executive decision and had to think about the greatest good. Medicine doesn’t always taste good, but if we are going to get better, we need it. Or learn to withstand the suffering. And I don’t want you to suffer. So I challenged myself. To do 2 things…make taxes easier to understand, and make it halfway fun.
