12/10/24 - Host Doug Stephan and Dr. Ken Kronhaus of Lake Cardiology (352-735-1400) cover a number of topics, including a focus on our bodies, the cardiovascular system and how even a little bit of exercise will help the longevity of our lives — even as little as 90-seconds a day can be beneficial diminishing the risk of heart attack or other cardiovascular event. Additionally, maintaining muscle mass can help in fighting against the risk of dementia. Plus, a national survey from The Ohio State University Medical Center found more than half of people find it beneficial to their mental & physical health to have alone time, people with a BMI above 30 could be at a higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease up to 20 years before the earliest dementia symptoms start to show, and how lack of sleep or irregular sleep patterns may have an increased risk of heart attack or stroke. Doug and Dr. Ken also discuss the latest COVID-19 news, nationwide statistics are showing less people are getting the Covid vaccines, confirmed flu and covid cases are considered to be low, and Dr. Ken’s thoughts on Dr. Oz running Medicare and Medicaid.
