Chaitra Shukla Paksha Navami Thithi is the Birth day of Lord Rama, hence today is known as Sri Rama Jayanthi popularly called as Sri Rama Navami. Madhyãhna muhurtham is most auspicious time to perform Puja rituals. The Muhurtha time is 11.07 AM to 01.34 PM.

In both Telugu states devotees perform Sita Rama Kalyanam during Abhijit muhurtham(11.56 AM to 12.45 PM). In Bhadradri in Telangana, in Ayodhya,the birth place of Lord Rama the celebrations are held in grand manner.

Today is Tara Jayanthi. Goddess Tara is the second of Dasa Mahavidyas. Tara is the Goddess who offers ultimate knowledge and gives salvation hence She is known as Neela Saraswati.

During the churning of Milky sea when poison came out of the ocean. Lord Shiva drank it to save the Universe from destruction. Lord Shiva fell unconscious under the effect of the poison. At this point Goddess Parvathi appeared as Tara and took Shiva on her lap and breast feed Him to counteract the effect of the poison. Hence Tara is said to be more approchable to the devotees because of Her maternal instincts.

Guru Pushyami yogam or Guru Pushyãmruta Yogam is formed today between 10.59 PM and Sunrise tomorrow (combination of Thursday and Pushyami nakshatram).This time is auspicious to take Mantropadesam, to consult elders, to lay foundation stone for new building, to consult Doctors.

Sarwardha Siddi Yoga is formed today whole day and Amrutha Siddi Yoga is formed today between 10.59 PM and Sunrise tomorrow. (Combination of Thursday and Pushyami nakshatram). These yogas are beneficial for many activities. But inauspicious Madhu Sarpisha Yoga is also formed today between 10.59 PM and 11.30 PM (combination of Navami thithi, Thursday and Pushyami Nakshatram). Madhu Sarpisha means mix of Poison and Honey. It is an inauspicious yoga which gives malefic results. Hence , No auspicious and important work should be done during this time.
