Notes:

quit表示“停止；戒掉；辞去（工作）”

quit smoking戒烟

quit one's job辞职

be harmful to表示“对...有害”；还可以说"do harm to"

check out表示“查看；调查；退房”等。在酒店退房时可以说："Check out, please."或"I'd like to check out."

Check it/this out可以翻译为“仔细讨论；查看清楚”

例句：

Maybe we need to go down to the library and check it out.

或许我们应该去趟图书馆查个明白。
