A Giver of Thanks

2 Corinthians 9:6-13

Main Point: God is glorified when what we give results in thanksgiving back to Him.

Thanksgiving is offered to God when His children:

1. Give in faith to kingdom work.

• 2 Corinthians 9:6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
• Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
• Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

2. Give Cheerfully to kingdom work.

• 2 Corinthians 9:7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
• 1 Chronicles 29:9 The people rejoiced at the willing response of their leaders, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly to the Lord. David the king also rejoiced greatly.

3. Give generously to kingdom work

• 2 Corinthians 9:11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
• 2 Corinthians 9:13 Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.
• Hebrews 13:16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
• 1 Timothy 6:18 Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.

Punto Principal: Dios es glorificado cuando lo que damos resulta en acción de gracias hacia Él.

Acciones de gracias son ofrecidas a Dios cuando sus hijos:

1. Dan en fe a la obra del reino.

• 2 Corintios 9:6 Pero esto digo: El que siembra escasamente, también segará escasamente; y el que siembra generosamente, generosamente también segará.
• Filipenses 4:19Mi Dios, pues, suplirá todo lo que os falta conforme a sus riquezas en gloria en Cristo Jesús.
• Salmos 23:1 Jehová es mi pastor; nada me faltará.

2. Dan con alegría a la obra del reino.

• 2 Corintios 9:7 Cada uno dé como propuso en su corazón: no con tristeza, ni por necesidad, porque Dios ama al dador alegre.
• 1 Crónicas 29:9 Y se alegró el pueblo por haber contribuido voluntariamente; porque de todo corazón ofrecieron a Jehová voluntariamente.

3. Dan generosamente a la obra del reino.

• 2 Corintios 9:11 para que estéis enriquecidos en todo para toda liberalidad, la cual produce por medio de nosotros acción de gracias a Dios.
• 2 Corintios 9:13 pues por la experiencia de esta ministración glorifican a Dios por la obediencia que profesáis al evangelio de Cristo, y por la liberalidad de vuestra contribución para ellos y para todos;
• Hebreos 13:16 Y de hacer bien y de la ayuda mutua no os olvidéis; porque de tales sacrificios se agrada Dios.
• 1 Timoteo 6:18 Que hagan bien, que sean ricos en buenas obras, dadivosos, generosos;
