Croup (or laryngotracheobronchitis) is caused by a virus and leads to swelling inside the throat. … People with croup can have a “barking” cough, stridor (a high-pitched wheezing sound), and hoarseness. Croup symptoms often get worse at night.
So, it is important to know that a cool humidifier can help to relax the inflammation, which in turn can aid in calming the cough. Or, a shower can also help. I used to take my son into the shower when he had the croup. He responded very quickly to a warm steamy room filled with vapor, because he seemed to have a VERY Dry croupy cough every time he became ill.
Oh, And don’t forget the VITAMIN C! Always boost the immune system with C and Tinctures!
