When We Are Invited Into Executive Spaces Will We Ever Belong?

Can we ever feel like we belong in spaces that are not diverse and where the welcome mat is not rolled out to its fullest? Diversity can be deliberate, but belonging must be fostered – the challenge, organizations want executive-level diversity, but they will never do the hard work to make sure we belong after we get the invitation to enter.

In this episode of Inclusion Unscripted, Margaret Spence will discuss inclusive exclusion in executive spaces. The bold question is, are we really welcomed in executive leadership, or should we stop trying to fit in? This is a tough conversation about how Black Professionals are excluded even when they are in the highest roles in most organizations. The invitation to enter doesn't include an invitation to the party.

Inclusion Unscripted, where we’re not just talking about diversity and inclusion, we’re living it. The Inclusion Unscripted Live Weekly Podcast is unapologetically honest about diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Our goal is to empower diverse listeners to ask for what they want and to inspire organizations to co-create more equitable and inclusive workplaces. Tune in every week for a new episode. Inclusion Unscripted is a live-streamed broadcast every Friday at 2 pm EST on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Join us live, or find us on iTunes, Spotify, or your favorite podcast app.
