Most leaders are stuck with the question, "How do you get people to act exactly as I want them to?" Many of these same leaders define "successful" leadership as a tool for achieving efficiency and effectiveness, often focusing on narrow commercial outcomes. They tend to overlook the human qualities and dynamics of both leaders and those they lead. However, truly effective leaders understand that leadership is relationship-oriented, creative, and constructive and encourages the release of human possibilities - enabling others to break free of limits that are created organizationally or self-imposed.
