This is our 11th and final free lesson covering Spanish for the Covid vaccines. Nine of these lessons are included in our free podcast and are available to all on our website. Check out all our free lessons covering Spanish for COVID-19.

In this lesson, we practice using the word “antecedentes” to explain Covid vaccination and monitoring in people with a history of allergic reaction. In the upcoming member lesson, we will practice vocabulary and phrases for describing an immediate allergic reaction in Spanish.

The primary purpose of these lessons is to practice useful Spanish vocabulary and phrases when discussing vaccination against Covid-19. When speaking with patients, you should always use information provided by current trusted medical sources.

  • Both DEBE y DBERÍA mean “should.” DEBE conveys an obligation (i.e. “you must”), whereas DEBERÍA conveys a suggestion. But don’t sweat the difference because it is subtle.

Si tiene antecedentes de una reacción alérgica inmediata a la vacuna o a alguno de los ingredientes de la vacuna, no debe / debería recibir la vacuna.
If you have a history of an immediate allergic reaction to the vaccine or to any of the vaccine ingredients, you should not receive the vaccine.
