更强免疫逃逸奥密克戎变异株进入我国

The China CDC weekly report released yesterday announced that the first imported case of Omicron subvariant BA.2.12.1, another highly transmissible mutation【变异】 was discovered on April 30th in Guangdong Province. The patient flew on an international flight from Nairobi, Kenya, and arrived at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport on April 23rd. The patient tested positive for coronavirus on April 27th during the routine 14-day quarantine for incoming travelers. The weekly report mentioned that the transmissibility of BA.2.12.1 is about 23 to 27 percent higher than that of BA.2, and also shows stronger resistance【抵抗力】 to an immune reaction. This variant has led to a resurgence【复兴】 of infections in at least 17 countries, including the United States.

中疾控周报昨天报告，4月30日在广东省发现首例奥密克戎亚型毒株BA.2.12.1的境外输入病例，这是另一种具有高传播性的变异株。这名患者从肯尼亚内罗毕搭乘国际航班，于4月23日抵达广州白云国际机场。4月27日，在入境人员14天常规隔离期间，该患者新冠病毒核酸检测呈阳性。周报提到，BA.2.12.1的传播率比BA.2高23%至27%，而且具有更强的免疫逃逸能力。目前已有包括美国在内至少17个国家报告了相关病例。

As Shanghai continues in its efforts to set up enough PCR test sites in densely populated areas so that residents can find one within a 15 minute walk. More sites have sprung up in downtown Jing'an district to meet the demands of the area, as more businesses get back to work. Lei Shuran has more.

With more businesses reopening, and more people going back to work, many restaurants on Wujiang Road have reopened to take orders online. It is convenient for delivery riders to come here and do a test when they pick up and deliver orders. We're currently taking about 300 samples a day.

This PCR test site located at the entrance of Jingan Park is surrounded by office buildings, and takes 400 to 500 samples per day due to the area's high population density. Two pavilions【亭子】 were installed at the site with four separated areas to better manage large numbers of people.

该核酸采样点位于静安公园门口，周边商务楼宇环绕，由于该区域人口密度高，每天采样量为400到500份。为了更好地管理大量的人员，场地上设置了两个采样亭，划分出四个区域。

Our two pavilions can handle 2,000 people per day. And if there are a lot of people waiting in line, we will add temporary testing staff as soon as possible to avoid crowding.

So far, 345 regular PCR test sites have been put in place in Jingan District, handling an average total of 10,000 samples per day.

3.PETS RETURN HOME FROM TEMPORARY ANIMAL SHELTER

动物方舱迎来最大一批动物出舱

The first batch of pets from a pet shelter in Huangpu District's Laoximen Subdistrict returned home this afternoon to reunite【团聚】 with their owners who have recovered and returned from makeshift hospitals. Zhang Hong has more.

今天下午，黄浦区老西门街道动物方舱的第一批宠物返回家中，与从方舱医院康复归来的主人团聚。记者张泓带来更多详细报道。

The first batch of pets had 17 dogs, 16 of them belong to a guide dog trainer who has been taking care of the dogs for others. The trainer tested positive for COVID a week ago and went to a makeshift hospital.

第一批宠物有17只狗狗，其中16只属于一个导盲犬训犬师，他一直在为其他人照顾这些狗狗。一周前，这位训犬师核酸检出阳性，并被转运至方舱医院。

The free temporary shelter for pets on Jiangyin Street was set up earlier this month with the help of the Laoximen subdistrict. Its manager, Zhai Jiang is also the owner of a nearby pet clinic.

The 16 dogs were sent over by the Subdistrict once this shelter was opened and the trainer called me every day to see how they were doing.

The animals are fed twice a day, and their caretakers also play with them and soothe【安抚】 them when they look despondent【沮丧的】. Professional vets are also available if any of them get sick.
