Exhibitors are stepping up final preparations as the 5th China International Import Expo approaches. The first exhibits were transported to the National Exhibition and Convention Center today. Yuan Chenyue tells us more.

随着第五届中国国际进口博览会的临近，参展商正在加紧最后的准备工作。第一批展品今天被运往国家会展中心。记者袁晨月为我们带来更多详细报道。

The first exhibits included advanced【先进的】medical equipment, new energy vehicles and fuel cell systems. Many of them will make their debut in Asia or China.

National Exhibition and Convention Center organizers say they will start arranging the exhibition booths between October 27th and 31st, and work on the layout of the exhibits in early November. Online trial operations began today with content from 30 countries. A total of 66 countries and three international organizations will participate in the online exhibition.

2.TAOBAO BEGINS PRESALES FOR DOUBLE 11 FESTIVAL

Hype is building for the annual Double 11 shopping festival. While the official date is November 11th, pre-sales began on Tmall tonight. Yuan Chenyue has more.

一年一度的双十一购物节正在掀起热潮。虽然官方日期是11月11日，但今晚天猫便已开始预售。记者袁晨月带来更多详细报道。

On Alibaba’s e-commerce platform Taobao, many companies have already set prices on their products. Altogether 290,000 brands from around the world will be available during the Double 11 shopping festival on Taobao, including 70,000 for the first time.

在阿里巴巴旗下的电子商务平台淘宝网上，许多公司已经为自己的产品定价。在双11购物节期间，来自世界各地的29万个品牌将在淘宝上出售，其中包括7万个首次上市的品牌。

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoi-gu yesterday spoke for the second time in three days. Last Friday’s call was their first since May. Zhang Hong has the story.

The Pentagon declined to give details beyond saying that Austin, who initiated the call, emphasized a need for lines of communication amid the conflict in Ukraine.
