One World in a New World with Doug Bruhnke - Founder & CEO, Global Chamber serving 195 countries and 535 metro areas to date. As we face sanctions and shenanigans, this is an episode worth your time and attention.

Asked about early inner knowings, Doug admits the calling to do international business seemed to be in his blood. One of his early realizations going into college was the awareness that he needed to be part of making the world a better place.

We dive deep into the world scene, changes and potential outcomes from the perspective of the world actually getting better, even with the bumps in the road. He speaks to the awareness that most of the inability to see beyond the veils of information and narratives, enlightenment comes from dealing with other people through trade.

What does a sustainable trade model look like? Doug's explanation is exquisite. He draws from his experience from around the world and doing business through trade and building relationships, citing extraordinary differences in cultural behavior we don't realize. Cultures are different. By understanding cultures and people, trade brings and ability to bridge them in peace. Imagine that... peace.

Doug speaks to the sense of doing business and managing trade being a natural evolution of personal development and learning how to be better humans. Zen mentions Live and Let Live Global Peace Movement as focusing on being better humans first, then doing away with aggression through law and order.

Doug does open up and share his inner experience and it's worth the wait. He shares making his first international trip working for the DuPont Company and going to the Hyundai plant in Korea. He reaffirms that we all need something to believe in to ground us, and if it works it's all good. What questions are best to ask in developing trade relationships? What questions do you think are best? What kind of process is best? What's evolving for you? Listen in to Doug's answers. The crux is around problem-solving and refining what we're good at doing.

Doug shares a story of how his work with the Global Chamber brought business owners together from Nepal and Dubai to create trade relationships. The members of the local chapters helped a representative from the company in Nepal with business owners in Dubai, and they acquired two contracts as a result. How do we flip the notion of needing to be afraid of each other, from the pandemic, to restore optimism and bring people back together more balanced and sustainable? We discuss the possibilities and those who exhibit the trending already.

Doug shares a challenge that had an interesting twist between an Argentine company and a US company that had communication issues which were resolved through the Chamber, and it wasn't pretty for some that weren't attentive.
