3 Strikes, You're Out #50: World Series Retrospective with Alex Plinck
Manage episode 275824386 series 2491445
Well, we made it through an entire World Series episode without a single player testing positive for COVID. And you could ALMOST say the same thing about the World Series itself...
Rangers beat writer and friend of the pod Alex Plinck (Dallas Sports Fanatic) is back this week. If you had told me back in February that I'd be talking to a Rangers expert in late October, I'd have predicted it would've been the most shocking thing in all of 2020. We were all so innocent in the Before Times.
But with the World Series being held in Arlington, Alex had the privilege of attending all six games in person! So in this episode, we do a deep dive into it. The two of us debate over whether it's possible to understand why Justin Turner would celebrate with his teammates after testing positive. We manage to discuss the Rays' Game 6 strategy without Kevin Cash removing either of us halfway through the show. And we celebrate Brett Phillips's unlikely heroics in Game 4 as well as Clayton Kershaw earning a well-deserved championship.
Both of these things can be true about the 2020 World Series: it was a lot of fun to watch. And let's never do it again.
