Are you an Optimistic Dreamer?

“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence” (Helen Keller). Like Helen Keller, I also believe that optimism is the key to achieving the dreams you imagine. In this episode, I will describe my take on the definition of optimism, how being optimistic influences goals, famous people that were affected by optimism, how optimism affects our community and optimism’s effect around the world.

There are many different definitions of optimism, but Merriam-Webster defines it as a doctrine that this world is the best possible world. Merriam-Webster’s other definition of it is that it is an inclination to put the most favorable construction upon actions and events or to anticipate the best possible outcome. The roots of the word optimism comes from French optimisme, and Latin optimum.

“Optimism is a strategy for making a better future. Because unless you believe that the future can be better, you are unlikely to step up and take responsibility for making it so” (Noam Chomsky). Personally, that is my favorite quote concerning the meaning of the word optimism.
