Hello, Guys! Welcome back to “Sharing a catholic song”. Time flies! Graduation season is here again. It’s time to reflect on the past and look forward to the future. Today the guest on “Sharing a catholic song” is a graduating senior from America, who would recommend a melodious song O God Beyond All Praising.
O God beyond all praising
O God beyond all praising,
we worship you today
and sing the love amazing
that songs cannot repay;
for we can only wonder
at every gift you send,
at blessings without number
and mercies without end:
we lift our hearts before you
and wait upon your word,
we honour and adore you,
our great and mighty Lord.
Then hear, O gracious Saviour,
accept the love we bring,
that we who know your favour
may serve you as our king;
and whether our tomorrows
be filled with good or ill,
we'll triumph through our sorrows
and rise to bless you still:
to marvel at your beauty
and glory in your ways,
and make a joyful duty
our sacrifice of praise.
Wow! How wonderful! Thanks for your recommendation, so please tell us more about yourself and your study in your school.
Hello to everyone listening, my name is Elizabeth and I am from the United States.
I am in the last year of my studies of theology, that of studying God and the way He makes Himself known to us in the Bible and His Church.
So it can be easy to remember God when I am studying, but it is hard to remember God when in my actions.
Yes, you are right. So do I. The theory is easier than practice. Well, why you choose this song, what’s the significance for you?
This song helps me to remember He is important above all else and it helps me to love Him more.
When I listen to it, I can stop and begin to think from a different point of view, to remember that it is God and His love for me is that is most important in my life and not whatever is worrying me.
“And whether our tomorrow be filled with good or ill, we will triumph through our sorrow and rise to bless you still.”
This reminds us that life is not always easy, but God is always there to help us.
It does not matter, our tomorrow may be filled with joy or with sorrow, or a mix of both, but we will always praise Him and we are always untied with Him.
He is with us, so we have a great joy that is greater than the sorrow or happiness of this world.
OK. Our life will be much better with God’s help. But we all know that life during graduation is complex and challenging. So what’s your reflection and changes in your life due to this difficult situation and unknown future.
Since it is my last year of school, I have many questions about my future that cause me to worry a lot, like
“where will I live?”, “what job will I have?” “did I make the right choice about my future?” “how will I say good bye to my friends?”
But if I remember that this world is not what is most important, rather it is God who is most important and that He is always with me，these worries take on a new dimension.
God will watch over me no matter what, and that no matter what the future problems are He will always be there to help me.
Yeah, exactly! Jesus tells us: “I am with you always, to the edge of the age.”
No matter what, Jesus is with us. This is His promise.
OK, Thank you for sharing with us today, Elizabeth. We wish you a promising future and the grace of God be with you.
