On today's episode, Jason open things up by sharing his thoughts on USC and UCLA bolting from the Pac-12 to the Big Ten conference. College football has been chaotic for years now (NIL, transfer portal, College Football Playoff expansion), but this could be the one that takes the cake. It's one of the rare instances where a clear money grab is actually good for the sport as a whole. Now, the only question is whether or not Notre Dame decides to join up too. Later, J-Mac does a deep dive into Kevin Durant's formal trade request from the Brooklyn Nets. It's clear that seeing Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors win another title without him broke KD's psyche, and now he's looking to latch one with a club that will give a chance to settle the score. Of course none of this would've ever happened had he not hitched his wagon to the mercurial Kyrie Irving, but I digress. The only problem with trading for Durant, however, is that he has a history of injuries and he's clearly in the twilight of his prime years. Jason tries to assemble trade packages that would make both KD and the Nets happy, but it's hard to make something happen that would satisfy all parties involved. Would the Phoenix Suns give up Devin Booker in a deal? Do the Miami Heat have enough to get something done? Would a young stud like Evan Mobley or Scottie Barnes become available? These negotiations could drag on well into the summer. Finally, Jason closes the show by discussing what's next for the Nets now that both KD and Kyrie appear to be on their way out the door. In fact, J-Mac has one radical plan that he thinks could keep Brooklyn afloat for the foreseeable future: build around Ben Simmons.
