On this weeks episode, we have owner Selena O’Connor of Olive Alchemy. She gives us insight on how olive oil is made, the various types and the incredible health benefits it has to offer. This family-owned olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting room will have you never shopping at your local grocery store for these products again.

Selena and her mother opened the doors two years ago to her one of a kind shop. They were inspired by there Italian family friends who have been in business for over 100 years. Yes100 years. Back in the 1900’s they traveled all around the world to make sure they brought back quality, directly sourced olive oils. Selena’s heart was set on supplying the Conejo Valley community with this luxury.

We also learn the proper way to taste olive oil. Like a fine wine, there is a proper method. The selections are endless and hand picked by Selena herself. The more robust smelling ones have more nutrients and health benefits. Each oil is designed to be sipped rather than drenched in your favorite rustic or baguette bread. You will be hooked on the blood orange flavor and the spicy chili. Might even just need a straw and the bottle.
