Episode 79 Renee Le Tourneau A wife and mothers intermittent fasting journey. The first 6 months doing 18-6 losing 29 pounds (13Kg)

I am a 46 year old wife and mother of three teenagers (14, 17, 19) and live in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota USA. I used to work as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit but have been at home, full time, for the past 7-8 years.
I never had issues with my weight until after having children. I would say that after each pregnancy I would keep about 10-15 pounds of baby weight as my "new normal". I also began drinking soda following my first pregnancy. It was my way of getting caffeine since I was not a coffee drinker. It is a habit that I still struggle with today to kick.
I have never been a dieter. I grew up with my mother dieting all the time and I think it was a turn off to me to ever want to be like that. Even after gaining and keeping some pregnancy weight over the years, I was still satisfied enough with myself and my appearance. It wasn't until I was 39-40 years old, when my weight just started to creep up on it's own without changing anything about my lifestyle, that I started to get bothered. I assume it was due to hormonal changes, but in one year I was up 5 pounds. Then another 5 the next. And the next and so on until reaching my heaviest weight of 198 pounds (90kg) at 5'5" tall.
I have a friend that had lost weight with intermittent fasting, and at the end of January this year (2021) I decided to google search and learn about what IF was. I stumbled upon Gin Stephens' Delay, Don't Deny and downloaded the audiobook. WIthin two days I had listened to the whole thing. It all made perfect sense to me, and on February 1st I began my IF journey. My husband has recently joined me in this lifestyle and is still the only person I have brought myself to tell what I am doing.
To date I have lost 29 pounds (13kg) doing 18:6.
