Dr. Michael Zyda
Founding director of USC GamePipe Laboratory here in beautiful LA. The Laboratory has been ranked the number one video gameprogram in the United States for the last 9-years by the Princeton Review. Some say it is the best program in the world.
His alums have shipped games played by over 2.5 billion players with about $100B in revenue. Dr. Zyda is often referred to as the father of video games.
At the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey he and his team built the first networked virtual environment with fully instrumented body suits that played across the Internet.
His work on the networking of virtual environments contributed to the development of the standard for distributed interactive simulation.
