By Aesop1．A man and his wife had the good fortune to possess a goose that laid a golden egg every day . Lucky though they were , they soon began to think they were not getting rich fast enough , and imagining the bird must be made of gold inside , they decided to kill it in order to secure the whole store of precious metal at once .2．But when they cut it open they found it was just like any other goose Thus , they neither got rich all at once , as they had hoped , nor enjoyed any longer the daily addition to their wealth .3．Much wants more and loses all .生金蛋的鹅伊索穷人求富，富求更富，此人之常情。殊不知我们求得越多往往失去得越多。“君子素富贵行乎宝贵，素贫贱行乎贫贱”，古今中外的先圣前贤都告诉我们知足才能常乐。1．一对好运的夫妇有一只每天都生一只金蛋的鹅。他们已经非常幸运，但没过多久，他们开始想自己致富的速度还不够快。他们想这只鹅的内脏一定是用金子做的，便决定把它杀死，以便获得里面的金子。2．他们把鹅的肚腹割开后，却发现与一般的鹅没什么两样。就这样，他们并没有像他们所希望的那样成为暴发户，而且失去了一只金蛋的收入。3．贪婪者将一无所获。
