In this week’s podcast, Sandy Kaur speaks to Sukhy Desangh (@IAmKaurageous on Instagram) a campaigner, activist and survivor of domestic violence. Sukhy shares her experience of life as a South Asian woman in the UK who suffered with domestic abuse and the dissolution of her marriage following a long separation. She draws on her experiences in order to highlight some of the issues that women face around coersion, coercive control, violence and stigma from family and wider South Asian community. As a result of her experience, she is a campaigner and gives voice to other women seeking support for domestic violence. Elements of this podcast can be distressing so take breaks if you need to and come back to it when you can.
