Scott Hargis, based in Oakland, California, is one of Americas finest Architecture and Interior Photographers.

After being burned out in a corporate job Scott took up photography in his mid 30s, eventually niching in to real estate photography before specialising in architecture and interiors. Our conversation covers how Scott creates photographs the FEEL the way a room feels, as well as really digging into some of the nuances of how he works like the importance of including a human element, chiaroscuro, visual acoustics and why he carries a makeup mirror with him at all times.

For me, as a working, assignment photographer I LOVED this conversation and hearing how Scott combines his impressive technical skills with an ability to communicate emotionally through his photography was truly inspiring to me. I hope you enjoy our conversation.
