Hello everyone, for this new episode of " Sharing a Catholic Song", we come to the distant continent of Africa. We have Elijah, a young catholic from Uganda, presenting a Lenten song in his local language, titled "Oh, My Lord Jesus Christ". Let's dive into this song first.
Hello, Greetings everybody, I am Elijah from Uganda.
The song I have chosen to share with you today is a Lenten song in a native language of Uganda called “Luganda”，
which as our theme for this Lenten season “Ultimate love” reminds us of the love of God and Jesus Christ.
The meaning of the song in brief is:
In the valley of this world, I sin often,
in your beautiful palace, but you forgive me always.
Oh God, you haunt my soul,
may the dawn come quickly
so early，so that I can see you in heaven.
A lot on this earth deters me from being with you,
but I think about you every day my Lord.
Jesus, lover of souls, you are my friend,
I give you my heart, let it be yours.
The experience I have is that this song often reminds me of my sinful nature and the ultimate love God has for me through His son Jesus Christ and forgives me always.
I must have that yearning for God to see Him as He is in heaven.
