《美國加州再生能源發電現狀與展望: 台灣可以借鏡什麼? / A Quick Look at California’s Path to Electricity Generation from Renewable Energy: What Can We Learn from the Golden State?》
Manage episode 316657248 series 2959701
Ray has been in the power generation business for decades. Following his graduation from Johns Hopkins’ School of Advanced International Studies, he started his career with Coastal Power in Houston, Texas. He is now a consultant at Central Coast Community Energy in Monterey, California.
Today, Ray introduces us to the renewable energy scene in California. In 2020, total renewable electricity generation reached 33% of total electricity generation in California, pretty much hitting the target required by a 2006 California law. In 2018, Californian legislators decided to go even further by passing a law that legally requires California to generate ALL (yes, that’s 100%) of its electricity from renewable energy by 2045. Ray shares with us California’s secret of success and how government regulations can be an integral part of the success of renewable energy. His “simple” answer may surprise you. Let’s take a listen.
