Welcome to Part One of our two parter villains series (Star Wars has a lot of villains, y’all)! A large amount of Star Wars’s main villains are connected to Anakin’s story because within Anakin’s story is where we find most of the main themes of selfishness vs selflessness and the power of choice. Some villains simply utilize similar themes while some of them are direct parallels/foils to Anakin and some are simply there to highlight a specific aspect of Anakin’s character as he descends into villainy, but almost everywhere you look, there’s a connection to Anakin Skywalker to be found.
