Something new awaits you… on the highest point of the Manor. Up… close to the Moons… close to the Wind…
A lovely patchwork quilt surrounds and hugs you… a cozy companion to welcome in… things on the air… swirling, awakening a gentle earthly sense… bringing your attention to your Nose! The center of your smell… a sense that has lots to share and explore with you… if you only notice it!
I breathed deeply… giving focus and feeling to the scents that came to me… All was empty… at first… then a touch of Vinegar made its presence known… then Sadness followed… Yes, I could actually smell… Sadness…
Soon a strong scent of Pine Trees floated up to me. I looked over the widow’s walk railing, down to see a pine forest below. Movement in the dark caught my eye on one tree… a goblin of sorts, with dark, bright red hair, ragged clothes and bare feet hung there, on a branch… looking directly into my eyes! It smirked at me and with one leap… jumped all the way to the railing, almost in my face!
You can imagine my shock… yet his scent shared no malice towards me. I watched as he shivered and looked with envy at my large blanket. The blanket I felt deeply attached to, unwilling to part with. But I felt I wanted to help him. I gave him my heavy wool socks and a woolen sweater I also wore. He chucked in glee… and warmth… a new companionship begun!
