It’s crazy how many stops and stares you get when your significant other isn’t the same race as you. Specifically, if you’re black and they’re white (or vice versa). I’ve wondered what’s like to have a white girlfriend and what that would entail in our daily life. However, since I don’t have a girlfriend, I figured I’d get a friend to tell me about her experiences dating a white man (they’re engaged now). It’s kind of surprising how many concerns you can have when your significant other doesn’t share the same skin color, there’s also some unique challenges, but it doesn’t make you love them any less.
