So often, I hear from people wanting to get started but they’re struggling to find information, they don’t know where to start, and they’re not sure what they really want to do. Many times people will get stuck on the traditional licensed assisted living model without considering anything else. In this episode, I’ll walk you through the 3 things that you need to figure out when first getting started.

Before you even get started, know who you are wanting to serve. There are different requirements for different populations and you need to have this figured out first. This can change later on if you want to pivot, but you need a starting point.
What service are you looking at providing? What do you actually want to provide for people? If you’d like a little more clarity here, revisit Episode 3: Types Of Care.
Who do you have experience working with? Write down all of it, whether you think it’s related or not. This will be a good guide as you look through the requirements in your state.
