For our second episode, we meet Congee, the innovative London-based artist and producer. Self-named after the comforting Chinese dish, Congee explains in our new episode that his moniker celebrates both his heritage and also his upbringing: “I was thinking about my earliest memories from when I was younger: things that have stuck with me, that I still have a part of me now. Congee, a Chinese porridge, was always made for me when I was younger and my mum still makes it for me now. As a name, I like how it looks when you write it out in English, it’s satisfying.”
