New Zealand is facing a critical skill shortage and we have the answers within NZ, but are we looking at them, or just applying the same old thinking that got us to where we are right now?

We are going to challenge this with one of NZ’s most heralded outside the box “doers” and we say “doer” rather than “thinker” deliberately because Dorenda Britten Ltd. has spent her life challenging status quo and asking the tough questions.

The problem is the door hasn’t always been open as our traditional education system doesn’t enable them to progress through to what they could become, it’s a hangover from the days of it being considered a disability and the system isn’t designed to accommodate them let alone develop them

The stats tell us that 1 in 10 New Zealanders possesses a dyslexic mind. These people are, at best, underemployed, and frequently regarded as unemployable.

Our focus is currently on design and development teams in the tech sector. The tech sector is facing chronic skill shortages that will not be solved in the short term by the tertiary institutes, nor is it likely to be solved by the loosening of border restrictions to the degree that the problem requires.
