This episode is a Rewind Episode of my conversation with Entertainment Industry CEO Sarah Harden who leads Reese Witherspoon's company Hello Sunshine.

Sarah has led Hello Sunshine’s rapid growth as a premium content studio and direct-to-consumer media brand. Prior to her time with Hello Sunshine, she was President of Otter Media, and spent 10 years at News Corp/Fox, serving as Group Director at News Corp Asia.

Sarah holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA (Hons) from The University of Melbourne.

In this episode, Sarah discusses the genesis of Hello Sunshine as a media company centered around story-telling that has been structurally marginalized.

In building her company, Hello Sunshine, she talks about the convergence of her own Aussie values and Reese Witherspoon’s Southern values.

Sarah talks about her mother’s early influences on the way she learned about money and financial responsibility, and the importance of talking about money openly with your children.

She reminds us that when raising children, it’s important to be aware of unintentional signaling due to decades of “baked in” gender bias and gives us simple steps to teach them about financial literacy.
