校長Brocklehurst 罕有來訪 對Temple 管治諸多指責 强調校風清儉 遵循基督教義 生活理應刻苦樸素 更要修剪學生頭髮 只是校長女兒們裝扮奢華 此時簡不慎被校長認出 罰站凳上 當衆指斥為魔鬼 説謊者 所幸與Burns 眼神接觸 傳來鼓勵
Burns 在簡最低迷之際伸出援手 簡稍微放鬆 Temple邀請二人到家裏設茶款待 聽取簡就與Mrs.Reed 相處經歷 又向Lloyd 查證 不久證實簡清白 公開澄清之後 簡努力不懈 學業不斷進步 只是Burns 健康狀況有所暗湧
