CCSD Students Win Gold in Special Olympics Winter Games

Students from the Cherokee County School District have triumphed in the statewide Special Olympics Winter Games, securing gold medals in both traditional and unified basketball, as well as individual events like basketball skills and bowling. Superintendent Brian Hightower praised the students for their dedication and thanked the coaches, volunteers, and sponsors for their support. Among the winners were students from Creekview High School, Sequoyah High School, Transition Academy, R.M. Moore Elementary School STEM Academy, and Woodstock High School. These outstanding athletes will be recognized at the upcoming February school board meeting.
