Isabelle welcomes Dr. Tim Cunningham in this episode. A social justice advocate and urban design specialist, author of 'Human Rights and the Architecture of Conflict' (forthcoming) and Visiting Assistant Professor at Pratt Institute, Tim is based in New Jersey.

We discuss the deliberate use of urban planning and architecture as tools for controlling marginalized communities both historically and in the present day.

04:04 Urban Planning and Socioeconomic Inequality

06:14 The Role of Architecture in Social Control

07:49 Discovering Evidence of Deliberate Urban Design

15:52 The Legacy of Urban Design in Belfast
