Electrik Cake #0175 with The Valiant Queen 01132025 - TECHNO: From Chaos to Calm. This mix was made as my response to what's going on in my beloved County right now. Techno tends to calm me. Not give me peace - there is a Prince who does that already. No - Techno brings me a sense of calm. It is a musical time capsule, if you will, reflecting the frenetic urgent heartbeat here in Los Angeles. Displaced individuals. Completely destroyed homes. Frightened woodland creatures. Burnt up Oscars (yes - the celebrities who lived in the Palisades lost everything too) and the erasure of the evidence of lives lived. What's most heartbreaking is the political turmoil this has turned us into. I feel like some of us have stopped feeling, which is an essence of being human. People are so angry at everything and everyone. Of course who wouldn't be angry right now? Los Angeles has forever changed; and not just the topography, but the community, the culture, its very FABRIC has been ripped apart. Seething beneath the Angel's Wings bubbled a tarpit of displeasure, dislodged and now available for all to smell. If you've ever been to the La Brea Tar pits, you know what I mean. What will we be after this? What's gonna happen? What will happen to love? There is a glimmer of hope though. I see some good communities banding together to offer love and HOPE, but others want to criticize and blame and discredit - on "both sides of the aisle" as they say. I've one final thing to say. In the end, nothing matters except who you know, who you Loved, and who you Served... but most importantly, WHO KNEW YOU. One day you'll find yourself knocking and knocking and knocking at a door that will never ever open. But you hold the keys in your mouth and in your heart whether you will take your life From Chaos To Calm.
