Forced pivots are the hardest; it can feel like the rug is being pulled out from underneath you. If you look at it as negative and filled with scarcity, that’s all you find. But, if you see it as an opportunity to try something new and the abundance that comes with it, you can create something magical. Michelle Fishburne, author of Who We Are Now, found herself without a job, spouse or house during the pandemic. She packed up her RV and drove around the country listening to others’ stories, which led her to write a book.

More about Michelle:

Until her life turned upside down in 2020, Michelle Fishburne had taken a fairly traditional route in life -- law school, attorney, stay-at-home mom, and then public relations when she reentered the workforce. All normacy went out the window, though, when she lost her job in the COVID spring and could not find another one, despite months of trying. When the lease on her post-divorce house was up on July 31 and her youngest was heading off to college, Michelle found herself without a spouse, a house, a job, or a kid to take care of. She moved into her 2006 motorhome with her dog, Buddy, and started driving. That was the beginning of a breathtaking pivot.
